Swedish band Junip asked their fans to create a music video for their song, “Without You,” back in early June. The winning video, which is now the official video for the track, was shot by a film company called co-DEPENDENCYfilm. They used an Ultra 16mm to film the piece, and it was shot in Albuquerque, NM.
Not only does co-DEPENDENCYfilm get to say they created the winning video, they also received received a Moogerfooger MF-102 ring modulator, which is a hand-crafted effects box from Moog, who was a partner in the contest. We’re jealous … that’s a pretty sweet piece of equipment. Check out co-DEPENDENCYfilm’s YouTube channel to see more of their work.
“Without You” is the third single off the band’s debut record Fields, and while this isn’t the first time a band has crowdsourced a music video, we’re glad to see that this was well executed, and the video really fits the band’s style.
What do you think of the video? And what bands would you like to see crowd-source a video?
