M83 Launches Online Auditions For Touring Musician

Posted September 20

Hey, synth-loving kids, secreted away in your bedroom/recording studio lairs: This is your moment. The magnificent M83 is on the lookout for a multi-instrumentalist based in the Los Angeles area to accompany them on their upcoming world tour.

M83 (a.k.a. Anthony Gonzalez) put the call up on his website the other week, which reads as follows:

We are looking for a multi-instrumentalist based in the Los Angeles area who can play Guitar, Bass and Keyboards. They should also be able to sing and ideally have previous knowledge of working with Ableton.

The tour is scheduled to last up to 12 months and the successful musician would need to be available to work throughout that period of time. You must be a US citizen or already have an existing US work visa.

Gonzalez asks interested applicants to make a vid showing off their chops and upload it to YouTube, then submit via the M83 website.

M83′s double-stuffed, majestic sixth album, Hurry Up We’re Dreaming, drops in October. We’ll have an interview with the man himself around that point, but, in the meantime, check out the disc’s first track, “Midnight City,” below and start honing those skills:
