“Digital Genius” is a pretty lofty title — one we’re wholly OK with applying to Icelandic songstress Bjork.
Bjork released her new album Biophilia this fall as a massive experience encompassing a series of interactive iPad apps, as well as custom-made instruments, innovative live shows and educational programs for children.
Even though she was up against some similarly smart competitors — Wayne Coyne of The Flaming Lips, director Chris Milk, DEVO, Girl Talk — Bjork’s dedication to inventive storytelling and to her music (she delayed the release of the album itself so that she could perfect it further) put her at the head of this overachieving class.
