O Music Awards nominee for Best Music App, SoundCloud, is out with a new addition to its platform today: a native iPad app.
For those who have yet to enter SoundCloud‘s fold, the platform allows users to record and share sound extremely easily via visually appealing waveforms, and other users to comment on and follow said sounds. It’s a huge favorite among musicians — Ben Kweller even penned an ode to the service.
We have yet to download the new app (we left our iPad at home today), but it promises to be a much more visually appealing, tactile experience than the mobile app. According to the company, the app includes:
* Screens to help navigate and discover sounds, along with “stream” and “activity” tabs
* More waveform real estate than other versions of the platform
* The ability to easily find and follow friends and record and send them private messages
