Instagram: It’s not just for mobile tour diaries anymore. Scottish band Twin Atlantic is partnering with Instagram to both help fans unlock exclusive content and design a cover for their single, “Make A Beast Of Myself,” off of the album Free.
The campaign, titled “Twinstagram Mosaic Project,” kicks off Friday, at which time fans will be asked to tag Instagram photos with #freetwinatlantic. Those snaps will be pulled into a grid — which doesn’t seem to be active yet on the band’s site. Fans can then share their pictures via social networks.
The more photos tagged, the more content unlocked, including a free remix of “Make A Beast Of Myself,” acoustic videos and more. Images will also be added into a mosaic picture of the single’s cover, which features the Virgin Mary, and sold as a lithograph.
This isn’t the first time that a band has teamed up with Instagram to connect with fans. The Deftones have a page on their website featuring photos pulled in from fan Instagrams, and The Vaccines crowdsourced snaps to be used in the video for “Wetsuit.”
