Tune In Tonight At 7:30 EST To Watch The O Music Awards LIVE!

Posted June 27

The time has come. Our bags are packed. Our hearts are steeled. Our eyes are pried — Clockwork Orange-style — open so as not to miss a beat. The O Music Awards — an epic, cross-country, record-breaking roadtrip — kicks off tonight at 7:30 p.m. EST in Memphis, Tennessee, and we’re not stopping until we reach New Orleans, Louisiana, in 24 action-packed hours.

Today marks the third edition of the O Music Awards, Viacom’s newest awards show dedicated to honoring the intersection between music and technology. In the past, we’ve celebrated music/tech innovators in awesome locales like Las Vegas and Los Angeles, peppering the proceedings with exciting happenings (like breaking the Guinness World Records for Longest Team Dance Marathon and Longest Freestyle Rap). This time, however, we’re outdoing ourselves — hardcore.

The third O Music Awards comes in the form of a 24-hour, livestreamed roadtrip through the American South, the birthplace of rock ‘n’ roll. We’ll be traveling in a tricked-out vintage tour bus appropriately named “Endeavor,” from which we’ll be doling out 24 awards — everything from “Must Follow Artist on Twitter” to “Best Music Hack” to “Digital Genius” — as well as attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the Most Live Concerts in 24 Hours (multiple city).

We’ve enlisted The Flaming Lips to help us with this endeavor, as well as a passel of performers that will play with/collaborate with the Lips along the way, including Neon Indian, Hunter Hayes, Grace Potter & the Nocturnals, GIVERS and more!

And, of course, we’ll have some folks on hand to help host all of this musical action. Those personalities include Jackass‘s Chris Pontius, LOVELINE co-host Mike Catherwood, Broadway star and singer Laura Bell Bundy, actress Alison Haislip, VH1 Top 20 Countdown host Jim Shearer, VH1 Classic That Metal Show host Jim Florentine, LOGO’s RuPaul’s Drag Race star Jujubee, comic Julian Mccullough, What’s Trending host Shira Lazar, TV personality Michelle Collins, comics Jason and Randy Sklar, NextMovie’s McKenna Maduli and some exciting surprises.

Is your face melting off yet? We thought so. Watch all the action on OMusicAwards.com — and on mobile and tablet devices — and don’t forget to RSVP for the big event on Facebook!
