If you’ve ever wanted to go on tour with your favorite band, here’s your chance — well, if your favorite band just happens to be MNDR, that is. The Beyond The DJ: Most Innovative Solo Performer winner recently came out with a new music video for the jam “C.L.U.B,” and it puts you right in the action.
A little background: In March, the O Music Awards held our first “Unboxed” event — our new live series in New York that merges music, tech and art — at which MNDR headlined. The theme of the evening was “Interactivity,” and, in addition to opening band Miracles of Modern Science, a preview of new app Cameo and an appearance by installation The Rainbow Machine, we also shot an interactive music video for MNDR.
To create the piece, we enlisted OMA Nominee Eli Stonberg (Most Innovative Music Video) and Jeff Greco of fourclops ::). The result is a pretty rad little vid that plugs in to your Facebook account to turn a routine trip to an MNDR show into a personalized video (shot on your iPhone) depicting your big break. All show footage was shot during our Unboxed event at New York’s Webster Hall. The video officially premiered during last week’s O Music Awards, during which MNDR also won the award for Beyond The DJ: Most Innovative Solo Performer.
