WTF Wednesday: Imaginary Cities Show Us The Coolest Instrument Ever

Posted July 26

Welcome to another edition of WTF Wednesday, where bands tell us what the f**k they’re looking at online. This week, we hit up Imaginary Cities, who shared with us their affinity for unconventional performance spaces and even more unconventional instruments.

The Canadian band, who recently dropped the LP Temporary Residents, swung by OMA HQ to bestow upon us pretty much the coolest instrument we have ever seen: Teletron, a mind-controlled synthesizer created by the band Apples In Stereo. They also showed us Black Cab Sessions with Brian Wilson — in which the Beach Boy sang in a cab — but nothing up in that joint was controlled by brain waves, so we weren’t as interested.
