Help Sandy Victims By Watching Gavin Degraw, Phillip Phillips & More Rock Out Online

Posted November 14

Following the destruction that Hurricane Sandy inflicted on the East Coast, tons of musicians both major and up-and-coming have hosted benefit concerts to help those still recovering from the aftereffects of the super storm. For those of you unable to attend said concerts due to distance or time, take heart — online concert platform StageIt has you covered.

StageIt — which was launched at SXSW in 2011 (by Evan Lowenstein of early ’00s pop duo Evan and Jaron!) — allows bands to earn money by streaming shows live online. Now, it’s hoping to give back by putting together a series of shows, the proceeds of which will go to Hurricane Sandy Relief efforts.

Online concerts and charity have been all the rage lately, what with the Global Citizen Festival’s live/livestreamed philanthropic event and the Avett Brother’s online Legendary Giveback Concert.

Check out StageIt’s lineup below. The shows kick off on Thursday, November 15.

11/15, 5:30pm EST/2:30pm PST Gavin DeGraw

Come hang out, ask questions and request songs with Gavin in this live, stripped-down acoustic show. Proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross. The top five tippers from this show will be sent signed copies of DeGraw’s new CD and DVD, SWEETER LIVE, out December 4th.

11/15, 6:00pm EST/3:00pm PST Phillip Phillips

In his first live performance since winning the 11th season of American Idol, Phillips will perform from PS22 on Staten Island, where he’ll be joined by the PS22 Chorus. All proceeds will go to The Siller Foundation and The Red Cross.

All proceeds will go to children in the Northeast.
