Top Ten Tunes of 2012: Lewis Watson’s Picks [SPOTIFY PLAYLIST]

Posted December 17

The end of the year is all about reflections, new beginnings and, naturally, listening to lots and lots of tunes. That’s why we’ve asked a cadre of bands to assemble a collection of kicka$$ playlists featuring their favorite jams of 2012. Next up, we have Lewis Watson‘s picks. Check them out after the jump.

1. Matt Corby – “Untitled”

I’m a massive fan of the Corby and this was the first song that I heard from him about a year ago on YouTube. If you haven’t heard his stuff, I’d highly recommend it.

2. Lianne La Havas – “They Could Be Wrong”

Again, a massive fan of Lianne. I was lucky enough to support her for a couple of dates — an extremely talented lady with an incredible voice and this is my favorite song, so yeah!

3. The 1975 – “The City”

This is a banger; that’s all.

4. Bruno Mars – “Locked Out Of Heaven”

Reminds me of Sting & The Police, and anything that does that is great. Haha. Say what you want, such a great song

5. Gabrielle Aplin – “The Power Of Love”

So pleased this got to number one. She’s one of the reasons I started learning guitar actually, haha. Love Gabby!

6. Twin Atlantic – “Make A Beast Of Myself”

Love the Scottish twang — a big, big fan of this song.

7. Warren G ft. Nate Dogg – “Regulate”

Searched a little while for a compilation released in 2012 that contained this song. Found one! It’s called Hip Hop with R&B Flavor. That’s all :-)

8. Deftones – “Swerve City”

New Deftones. Such a great album opener, too. Yes!

9. Drake Ft. Lil’ Wayne & Andre 3000 – “The Real Her”

Loved this album, but this song definitely stood out with Andre 3000′s verse.

10. The Maccabees – “Glimmer”

One of my favourite records of the year and this song is fantastic!
