Top Ten Tunes Of 2012: The Jealous Sound’s Picks [SPOTIFY PLAYLIST]
The end of the year is all about reflections, new beginnings and, naturally, listening to lots and lots of tunes. That’s why we’ve asked a cadre of bands to assemble a collection of kicka$$ playlists featuring their favorite jams of 2012. Next up, we have The Jealous Sound’s picks. Check them out after the jump.
1). Torche – “Kicking”
Rockin’ it ’90s style! Boo Yah!
2). Arctic Sleep – “Geneva”
Remember HUM? This is the modern version. Set up the bong, turn down the lights for this one…
3). Bloodnstuff – “Give Me A Call”
Oh you don’t know Bloodnstuff? Sorry, I can’t help you then…
4). Japandroids – “Younger Us”
I know ‘The House That Heaven Built’ will be the popular choice and this song was previously released as a single, but this song is easily the best thing this band has ever written.
5). Craig Finn – “When No One’s Watching”
Lacks some of the magical The Hold Steady chemistry, but even an average Craig Finn song crushes.
6). Superchunk – “This Summer”
Mac is still the master of the indie rock pop song.
7). …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead – “Lost Songs”
The masters have returned with the their best album in years.
8). Have Mercy – “Let’s Talk About Your Hair”
Tourmates who you’ll definitely be hearing from in 2013.
9). Make Do And Mend – “Lucky”
New labelmates with an amazing rock song.
10). Further Seems Forever – “King’s Canyon”
Fantastic chorus! Try not to tap your foot, we dare you…
11). Hot Water Music – “Mainline”
Rock. Rock. Rock.
12). Minus The Bear – “Steel And Blood”
These guys just keep making great records about the Pac NW playa lifestyle.
