SoundCloud may be all about, well, sound, but today the platform is expanding — somewhat — into visuals with a new feature available to select partners: “Moving Sounds.”
Monday, SoundCloud announced that it is introducing a new beta program, Pro Partner, that will be available to select brand and content partners — as well as streamlining its subscription plans.
Pro Partners — which at launch include Snoop Lion, Red Bull Sound Select and The GRAMMYS — will be able to use SoundCloud’s new “Moving Sound” feature, which is basically a slide show accompanying SoundCloud players. Pro Partners will also be able to promote their profiles using SoundCloud’s new “Promoted Profile” feature, calling out their content in other users’ “Who To Follow Sections.” So, basically, Pro Partners get some extra bells and whistles, as well as extra promotion. You can check out these new functionalities today via Red Bull’s Sound Select platform, which highlights music scenes, as well as via GRAMMY Amplifier, a mentoring program for artists.
In addition to the new Pro Partner Program, new Pro and Pro Unlimited subscriptions will replace the standing Lite, Solo, Pro and Pro Plus accounts in an effort to simplify the subscription process and make features like higher upload rates and better analytics available to more people for less cash. Features from the Partner tier will also trickle down to other tiers over time.
Pro will cost €3 per month and Pro Unlimited, €9 per month.
