We’ve kept you in the tight, tight embrace of suspense for much too long — it’s time to announce who will be taking on the Guinness World Record for the Most Live Concerts in 24 Hours (Multiple City) during the third edition of the O Music Awards. Nope, it’s not Beyonce — it’s those maestros of madness, The Flaming Lips (who are also up for two O Music Awards).
Oh man, we definitely have a contender for the next O Music Awards “Best Fan Cover” — although this act definitely has an unfair advantage. O Music Awards-nominated band (for the “Digital Genius” award) The Flaming Lips recently covered The Beatles’ “I Am The Walrus,” and all we have to say is: “I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.” Translation: Whoaaa.
Can’t wait for The Flaming Lips’ performance tonight at The O Music Awards? Well, it seems that the band has posted its 24-hour-long song (to be distributed via 13 real human skulls) online.
Robyn is getting ready to take the mainstage at the O Music Awards later on tonight (8:30pm PDT, to be exact), but she recently took some time out to chat with the O Music Blog about music, technology and her definition of digital genius — hint, she doesn’t consider herself one.
Wayne Coyne and The Flaming Lips are having a big night this Halloween — not only will they be debuting a tribute to Steve Jobs at the O Music Awards, they will also be dropping their fabled 24-hour-long song.
